Ada-Creek
is a neighborhood located in Gainsville, Georgia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of northeast Georgia. The population is approximately 36,000. Ada Creek is situated along the shore of Lake Lanier, which is one of the state's most popular recreational lakes. The city of Gainsville is the 19th largest in the state and is sometimes called "The Chicken Capital of the World," due to the large number of chicken processing plants in the area. Downtown Gainsville has a beautiful historic area filled with over fifty unique shops and restaurants. It's a true southern town with friendly neighborhoods like Ada Creek. Small enough to retain a hometown atmosphere, yet large enough to offer modern businesses, services and culture. Plus, it's just a short drive to the city of Atlanta. Gainsville offers 19 city parks with over 443 acres of parkland. Lake Lanier is a boaters' paradise, which sees over seven million people each year. The rowing and sprint canoeing events were held at Lake Lanier in the 1996 Summer Olympics and hosted the 2003 Canoe Sprint World Championships. Several marinas are located around the lake and its home to the Lake Lanier Islands Waterpark. Each year from mid-November through December, the Lake Lanier Islands are decorated with over six miles of holiday lights, which makes it one of the largest light shows in the world. In addition, there are carnival rides, Santa Shop, a live nativity, and bonfire.

Northeast Georgia, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains,
has four distinct seasons, where temperatures rarely get too hot or too cold. The region does receive some snow, but winters are generally mild with average temperatures in the 40s and 50s during the day and upper 20s to mid 30s at night. Summer highs rarely exceed the mid 80s. With altitudes ranging from 1,800 to 4,784 feet above sea level, northeast Georgia has an average temperature of 69.3 degrees. Rainfall averages 57 inches per year, and snowfall averages 3 inches. This region is located on the northeast border of Georgia within the Chattahoochee National Forest in Blue Ridge Mountains.
